A Black-led liberatory wellness ecosystem

We bring clinical, communal, cultural, and systems-level healing together so Black communities can live, love, imagine, and build a future beyond survival.

Local circles of the village

BMHV Memphis is the newest circle of the Village — planted so our support, resources, and collective power reach families right here at home.

BMHV chapters are groups of friends, neighbors, and advocates coming together to uplift Black mental health right where they live. Every chapter is rooted in our shared mission of holistic, culturally grounded healing, while shaping its own events, resources, and priorities around what its community needs most.

As a new chapter, we’re building our Memphis-specific programming across all four healing departments, guided by what our community tells us it needs most.

One village. Four ways we heal.

01

Clinical healing

Individual therapy, group therapy, case management, and medication management with Black therapists and clinicians — care built for people the traditional system has failed.

The village is for you

We center the healing and liberation of Black people across every stage of life and every lived experience — HBCU and college students, men, women, elders, youth, faith communities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, parents and caregivers, neurodivergent people, and justice-impacted people.

Do you have to be Black to join?

No. Black Mental Health Village is an inclusive organization that provides resources and support without discrimination to anyone who’s struggling. Still, we believe Black people are capable of creating and leading the interventions that heal and sustain our communities — which is why some of the spaces we curate are exclusively for Black people, and our leadership consists of Black people. We welcome value-aligned individuals and organizations who want to build with us toward racial health equity, healing, and liberation.

However you show up, there’s a place for you

Member, volunteer, donor, neighbor — the village is built by people who decided to be part of it.
